Yep, this is me. And that is my husband. We have known each other since we were about 5 years old. This photo was taken during one of our regular after pre school play dates. We have not dated since we were five, but we did start officially dating when high school started. After high school we both left Minnesota to attend The University of Kansas (Rock Chalk!) But we came back home where both of our families are to start our lives together.
Since we had dated for so long, you could said I was getting antsy about when he would pop the question. It is not a secret that I was pinning inspiration way before it happened. But how could I not? Pinterest is addicting! When Jacob and I finally got engaged I already had some thoughts about the style, colors and designs for our wedding.
As a designer, It was in my nature to create an inspiration board for our day. I actually created 3 inspiration boards and let the hubby pick which one he liked the best (this day was about him too)!
I originally was set on our day being inspired by this first board. I loved the combination of the fuchsia and different values of gray. This to me was both fun and modern.
The next inspiration board has more of a natural modern feel. Simple yet sophisticated. Our day ended up being inspired by this one, but of course it evolved over time.
This last inspiration board is the most casual and sweet. The pop of yellow off of the white and gray is playful, modern and is perfect for a wedding anytime of the year.
I had so much fun creating different visions of what our day could look like, it took me a while to narrow down. For those of you who know me, know I have an obsession with the color gray. After going back and forth between the fuchsia and yellow, I finally decided I didn't want to pick a color just to pick a color! So we ended up only using charcoal gray and white (I could not be happier with how it turned out)!
After the inspiration was finalized, it was time to start designing!
